January 31st, 2018, The Financial Commission, a leading member-driven External Dispute Resolution (EDR) organization serving participants in global foreign exchange (forex), derivatives and cryptocurrency markets, announces the participation of its Chairman, Peter Tatarnikov in a roundtable discussion of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets in Moscow, on Wednesday, January 31st.

The Financial Commission continues to develop relationships internationally with Self-Regulatory Organizations (SROs) and government bodies responsible for the regulation of the Forex market, including the AFD – a leading SRO based in Russian Federation that unites licensed forex-dealers and is officially licensed by the Bank of Russia, as well as the Russian State Duma Committee on Financial Markets in the lower house of Parliament.
The roundtable will be dedicated to several topics, including the repatriation of offshore Forex business and client protections, аs well as proposed amendments to current regulations to improve the competitiveness of the Russian market. During the session, Mr. Tatarnikov will discuss international practices in regulating derivative products, including Contracts for Difference (CFD). Separately, Mr. Tatarnikov will present an analysis of international legal and regulatory frameworks for the regulation of cryptocurrencies.
About State Duma Committee on Financial Markets
The main duties of the Committee are:
- Active participation in legislative work aimed at improving the regulation of the financial market, improving the efficiency of public and private investments, and implementing other measures to develop the financial sector in the interests of the country’s economy
- Drafting laws and resolutions of the State Duma on the regulation of the activities of credit organizations, insurance companies, infrastructure and stock market participants, institutional investors and other participants in the financial market, currency regulation and control
- Consideration of issues related to the formation and implementation of the main areas of the unified state monetary policy
