While recently having to raise minimum margin requirements for certain Forex pairs, the Japanese affiliate of Canadian based OANDA is now expanding its product set for retail customers with the addition of stock index CFDs. The broker has announced that 16 new products will be added and they should be available for trading since yesterday, on June 1, 2020.

The broker indicated that the decision to add the new products was based on requests from clients and they can begin to trade the stock indices by opening a new CFD sub-account on the brokers MetaTrader platforms. The new products include indices from Europe, the United States (a total of 4 markets), and also Asia. Popular products such as the Nikkei 225 and Dow 30 are also included.

Earlier in 2020 OANDA Japan launched trading on the MetaTrader 5 platform and after experiencing performance issues with its older MetaTrader 4 offering, the broker has not indicated if they will continue to use both trading systems in the future.
