Alongside traditional institutional models, proprietary trading (“prop trading”) has become a significant and rapidly expanding segment of the global trading ecosystem through evaluation programs, simulated environments, and funded accounts. This evolution has broadened participation in financial markets and accelerated innovation across technology, risk management, and trader development.
However, this rapid growth occurred under widely differing practices with respect to evaluation criteria, rule enforcement, payouts, and trader communications signaling the absence of unified fair standards governing transparency and conduct for firms and traders alike.
The Prop Firm Certification program has been introduced by the Financial Commission for prop firms to demonstrate alignment with standards of conduct through verifiable policies and documented practices using an independent framework of established global standards.
Certified prop firms demonstrate a commitment to:
• Clear, plain-language trading rules and evaluation criteria
• Fair and consistent enforcement of firm policies
• Transparent payout terms and dispute escalation pathways
• Responsible risk management and sustainable business practices
• Respectful and professional engagement with traders
Certified prop trading firms commit to conduct their operations in a manner that is transparent, fair, accountable, and aligned with the interests of traders and the broader financial ecosystem.
The Financial Commission invites prop trading firms to participate in the Prop Firm Certification program and contribute to the development of a more transparent, professional, and sustainable global prop trading industry.
The certification is a voluntary, non-regulatory certification program and does not constitute licensing, authorization, legal advice or an endorsement of a firm’s financial strength, solvency, profitability or future performance. The Certification does not guarantee that any individual trader will receive any profit or any particular commercial result.
